Location of the chassis nr Intermeccanica conv d '91

The VIN would be on a plate in the driver's side door jam, and on a VIN tag in the dash by the driver's side defroster vent.

 

If it's not very obvious, perhaps somebody removed them in the 22 years since it was built, for one reason or another. People do some really weird stuff to get these cars titled in the US.

 

I'd try contacting Intermeccanica in Canada to see if they can help.

Unfortunately I need the nr that is stamped/pressed into the chassis....

Roger, the VIN number on an IM is exactly where Stan said it is. The VIN# starts with IM....... I assume your car is a tube chassis, and not built on a VW frame.

 

Stan, is there a number stamped on the chassis anywhere you are aware of?

You may want to ask IM to give you a letter verifying where they place the VIN number.  That may look more official.

I've found the vin under the windshield and door jam. 

But I need a vin nr on the chassis itself to get it registerd.

The company wich is doing the registration for me has had another intermeccanica before and on that one it was located in the left front wheelspace.

Because it's recently sprayed with undercoat protection paint, we don't know the location .....no chassis vin nr ....no license plates :-(

If it's an older pan-based car, I believe the number is on the top of the tunnel near the frint end of the transaxle.  Not sure how you'd get to it.  If it's a tube-frame car, you may need to contact Henry Riesner at IM as Marty suggested.

Fly me over and tell me where you want it. Available in 1/4 and 1/8" size. You can actually buy blank Porsche (Klasse356.com) or VW id plates and stamp them (but your DMV may require it stamped in the chassis itself rather than affixed.)

Not that I'm aware of. If somebody else had the number stamped there on another car, they might have done it themselves.
