My directions say to locate the scribe line and the dimples for the
mounting post for the windshield. The problem is that my kit has a
gel coat and this covered up the marks. Can anyone give me measurements that I can follow to mount the windshield and the guide
posts correctly.

I posted CMC template before and its real close. CMC Faxed it to me in 1990 when I asked the same question. Do SEARCH and others might have added comments. Dimples and scribe lines were probably on earliest flashes of the body.

It should print as 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of paper. I added the measurments to center of holes which youn should be able to us. As you'll notice the template was very rough as they are the same on either side - I'd juggle to make them same when drilling holes.
I tried to pull up the jpg and print it - but Forum seemed to treat it as bmp --- humm. I'll mail you the original jpg to your email.
I have available a set of windshield posts that I made up as a dummy set. I've cut off the female bolt receivers and replaced it with a screw head as a reference point. These posts then can be set against the upper windshield frame and slide down to the cowl, the screw head then marks an exact postition to bore the post holes ...remember... that the holes get bored angled toward the front at the ...same... degree angle as the post base or you'll have to increase the bore size, thats where things get ugly.
These are available on loan all you do is pay postage both ways and return them promptly so that others may use them. ~Alan

Can you print me an original of the template, too?

Also, does anyone have an old set of pitted, useless corner posts? I'm looking for a pair....

I got "your pair right here" I have the above mentioned set, do you want to borrow them when you are ready for the w/s install ? ~Alan
Sure - probably need them next Winter.
I'll also take an old pair from someone to make a pair of hole locators for myself, too. Never know when you could use them.....

I would love to take you up on your offer to loan the windscreen posts, but I am in Thailand, and the to and fro will take time.
Any one have a clapped out set to sell me so that I can make my own?

Anyone have a source for the buttom rubber that goes the full (under posts) length?
For piece around posts try Klasse356.
For those who asked - I rescanned and sent template via email.

You can also use a piece of VW beetle fender rubber i.e. pipeing or like rubber that has a 1/8" bead on one edge ~Alan
The under post stuff Klasse sells is a straight piece you bend around the outer edge of the post.
I have a set I will send to anyone that wants them.
International Mercantile sells that kind and also sells a U-shaped molded piece alternative.
