Todd, Stop by an industrial truck repair shop. Large repair shops
sometimes have batt. cable on the roll and then they crimp on the end fittings once measured. Heavier gage=better.

Welding supply shop might work too. Long cables for arc welders are pretty heavy ('0' gauge?) it's really felxible also.
When I rewired my fishing boat I made some heavy duty cables using 1 gauge wire.
What I did was, clamp the terminal ends in a vice, so the opening where the wire goes in is facing up. I then cut up solder into small pieces and dropped them into the terminal ends. Then heat up the terminal until the solder is molten, and insert the stripped wire into the molten solder.
I also used shrink tube where the wire and terminal joined to keep it water tight.
West Marine is a good source for the cable, terminals, and shrink tube.

Use a crimped connection not soldered as the current induced heat can be considerable. In marine applications ABYC does not recomment soldered starter connections.
Welding cable is OK, but a single O gauge cable consisting of fine strand wires will have less resistance on long cable runs.

A good welding supplier can also put you ends on your cables so measure twice.

I use 8' (more than enough)of #2 cable.
To crimp the copper lug end to the cable, cut back the 5/8" of the insulation, gently snug the round lug end into a vise with a 1/4" bolt along the outside of the lug, as you tighten the vise jaws the 1/4" bolt makes a secure crimp on the outside of the lug and looks professional.
