I drove my 'new' IM for the first time on Saturday, and I was surprised how far forward the shifter is. First and third are a real stretch. I previously had a Gene Berg shifter and the location of the shifter was perfect.
I know there are a couple of forum members with a CSP shifter. How's the reach for you?

Mine has a bent shaft (no wisecracks!)
I'm not sure what's going on here. This car has had a stock shifter, Empi shifter, and a Gene Berg shifter. All were easy to reach, but the CSP shifter isn't. The only difference is new seats, but that shouldn't matter, with the seat adjusted properly (for pedal use).
Ron, I re-checked your pics of that shifter and IMO, the bend appears very slight to me to make a difference. Of course it could just be the angle of the pic, but that's the way it appears to me.

It seems to me, after looking at the other shifters, that the bend of those are more towards the bottom of the shaft, leaning them back more. The CSP has the bend towards the top and doesn't reach back as much.
