Very awesome, my brother! I saw something like that the other week down in VA Beach. Looked pretty fast. I didn't meet the owner so I didn't get to ask if I could take it for a spin.

 

I did hear someone say sagely, though: "you have to drive these things. Can't let them sit."

That looks like Bora, Maserati's mid-engined answer to the Ferrari Daytona and Lamborghini Miura.  Maybe not quite as fast, but a lot of folks are saying it's a better car than both in most ways.  I believe it has the same engine as the Ghibli SS, a 4.9L, quad-cam, quad-Weber masterpiece.

 

They also made a V6 version of the Bora called the Merak, with mechanicals from the Citroen SM.  Decent ones can be had surprisingly reasonably, but keeping them decent with those Citroen innards is a little tough, from what I've read.  I think the targets were the Dino and the Lamborghini Urraco.

 

Oh well...  They're all certainly out of my league, but it was fun to fulfill a fantasy.

Not to disagree with one of our more distinguished gentleman on the board, but the Bora has a very different side and quarter window treatment than the Ghibli.  The car on this post is a Ghibli.

Ghibli on top, most certainly.  But the picture Ed posted appears to be a Bora with the engine visible through the rear side window.  Ghibli is front-engined, while Bora is mid-engined.

We were walking around our block the other day & got invited in to a Halloween party hosted by a neighbor we didn't know yet.  He wrote his email address on the back of an expired registration for a Ferrari.  We went to a party there last night and I got to see his pristine red Ferrari 308 in the garage.  We're going to do some cruising together in both of our cars next spring!

Very sweet ride Lane, you are some kind of friend, helping your buddy out like that. lets hope for a speedy recovery??

Now one shouldn't rush such things.  He needs to make sure he's properly healed, you know.
