Interested in a Beck speedster to replace my flared CMC, my question is are the front axle beams welded into the tube frame on these cars? Therefore limiting the possibility of replacing or modifing it?

I believe you're right, Mark. It would have to be cut out and then welded back in. IIrc this came up in a thread where we were discussing caster shims. Beck installs the beam with more caster built in, so no need for shims (again, iIrc). Al
The beam is the front crossmember of the frame. Removing and replacing it would be difficult.
Yes, our front beam is incorporated into the chassis and doubles as one of the main crossmember. It does have additional caster built into it.
While you CAN change it (cut and weld as mentioned above) it is not an easy task, but do-able.
Were you looking for a narrowed beam or ???
Possibly, I found a Beck I'm thinking about purchasing, and could not find any info on how the tube frame was constructed, I want to lower the car, I'm assuming the Becks have adjusters incorporated in the beams?
Avis adjusters top and bottom up front and adjustable spring plates in the rear.
Welcome to the Madness!
Mark, do you realize that the gentleman just above your post is the man to talk to regarding anything "Beck"? PM him all your questions and you will receive. Good luck with your search...I hear them Beck owners are very happy with their cars.
Yup, I already sent Carey a message about this.
You can always replace the disc brake spindles with dropped ones (spindle is actually raised). This gives you a 2 inch drop and the Avis adjusters can further tune height. Suspect having it welded in makes for a more rigid chassis.
Yes, I know, I've built about 50 or so air cooled VWs, not my first rodeo so to speak.
Also, the beam is welded to the frame further out from the normal mounting points, which aids in torsional stiffness. Same thing at the rear.
