Looking for a good tire?

I just came across what seems to be a very good performance tire, at a very good price. Also, they come in sizes that actually fit non-flared speedsters. The tire is a Falken ZIEN ZE-512. It comes in a 185/65 x 15. Consumer Reports rated it #1, and it was the cheapest tire in their test. If you're interested, it's in the November 2003 issue of Consumers.

Ron, thanks for the tip. It's hard to find a good performance tire in the size we use. How do they look? Can you list the areas they scored good, and not so good in the tests? I dont think I can find a copy of that issue.

Finding good tires is not hard at all - Michelin, Continental, and Pirelli all make them in suitable sizes.

Bruce, I put a deposit on a car, but I want to go look at it and drive it one more time before I buy it. If I end up not buying it I'll lose a small part of the deposit, but that's better than buying a car that I don't really want.

That Reliant K convertible you are looking at buying has a lot less power than you think Ron. I mean compared to your IM that you sold it is pretty powerful, but not compared to anyone elses car.

Actually, it's an AMC Pacer convertible, and it looks stunning! As a matter of fact, it looks a bit like a wide, fat-assed speedster. It's the same colour as my IM and many of my friends have commented on how good my IM is looking these days. Should I tell them that I've stepped 'up' in the car world? Should I put Porsche emblems on it? I could tell people it's a 928 speedster.
