I'm looking for a rear deck lid / Bonnet for a replica Speedster. I'm not sure who made the kit. I have attached a couple pictures of the car if you know who the manufacture is that would help me alot. I would be interested in a new one or a used one that is in good condition. Please message me with any pictures you might have or if you have a lead on one. Thanks.

Thank you Greg I will send off an email.
That is most definitely a CMC/FF California (wide body) car. Looks like you have an engine lid - not sure what the "mounting tabs" on either side are though as they aren't used by the CMC hibachi grill. What's wrong with it - fiberglass is easily reworked.
Others have used the inner part of the lid and removed the outer layer and replaced it with a louvered "Carrera" lid outer layer from Beck Special edition. A bit of grinding with a Dremel or air tool and rebonding.
There is a SOCer (356 BUILDER) that has the complete CMC wide body molds and offered in past to produce parts. He's near in Zephyrhills (near Tampa/Sarasota) FL. The same guy made the Miata powered orange/red Speedster that was featured in ReinCARnation website/magazine.
Rusty Tubs (AZ and ATL?) also sell the lids - they come in 2 pieces - inner shell and outer. I'd contact Beck first though and FL guy) . Here's a link to louvered one - http://www.rustytubs.com/porsc...ouvered-kit-car.html
You'd probably want to buy the lid unbonded so you can adjust to your specific body. DrClock might have ideas on what fits and what doesn't.
I'm going to put a new motor in the car with a Aisin AMR 500 super charger. From what i have been reading the lid will need to be modified and i would like to keep the one that came with this kit intact. That is why i'm looking for a second lid. Wolfgang thank you for the leads I will send off a couple emails to see if I can get some pricing.
Wonder if Bill P. still has a 911-like black whale tale engine lid? Some like it and many don't. There would be clearance for a supercharger/turbo. oil cooler, ice maker and drink holders too.

Not think that is a look i'm going for on this build.
That "tea tray" can double as a diaper changing table LOL!

And that, fellas', is what a polite answer looks like.
I'm interested in the blower. Mario Velotta's been putting together kits using a small supercharger and single TBI for 1600- 1776 sized engines. I've always thought that it was a great way to get decent power for shorter than average money. Is this the direction you are going?
Yes this is the direction i'm going. Its on the engine stand now getting ready to fire it up real soon.

I would use the "stand off" approach but from the forward edge. It will get fresh air flowing and look really cool. Looks like you'd only need an inch or so...
Bill that might be a great option. Do you have any references as to what the stand off would look like?
It's the rain liner that will be the issue --- and the hinges mount to that rain liner. I'd hate to see an engine lid with a big ugly wart to clear it.
Carrozzino,
Just Google "VW deck lid stand off pics", and you'll get lots of pics and vendors who sell kits. Since the kits are for VW bugs, you may have to modify.
Many years ago I put a Judson supercharger on my nearly new '65 VW convertible. I was pretty dumb about some things then. I adjusted the belt tension by stacking up gaskets and put in an early Porsche distributor without thinking about proper advance.
The engine blew in less than 10 miles the first time I drove it.
Ouch, expensive lesson - did warranty cover it?

What was the power like until it blew up?

I have a Judson on a fresh built 40hp that i'm going to put in a future build. I will make sure that we don't add to many gaskets.
