I'm in SF, but for the right car, I can go to SD or LA.
Now Gerd, what could you possibly be thinking? ;-)
Seriously, if you're looking for a flared Speedster, Gerd has a really nice looking one for sale.

Gerd's car is beautiful, I'm not sure if I want a wide body or not,
Ross, I like your and am thinking about coming to sac to look at it, I'm trying to warm up to the interior.

I understand ... I had to do the same. I saw the ad and looked at the pics for about a week, but after I saw it in person I was sold. There's always some for sale at Specialty Sales in Benicia. Might be a little pricy, but at least you'll have some to choose from. You want me to send some high res pics?
Specialty sales has old images on their web site...... I live near there & as far as I know they don't have Speedsters anymore.
Black paint & a red interior is "classic"!!!

I'm debating a few speedsters and one very nice spyder. I should be making a decision soon

That's a gorgeous red interior - seats look very comfortable too! What's there to warm up to - its hot! IMHO Solid black seats are very boring in a Speedster and extremely scalding when you jump in with shorts on a sunny day.
Sam - FWIW, here is a video I have of Grant (Mangoman) cruising in his Speedster to San Diego. It is a VERY nice car!
Sam, I am partial to the black and red ones myself.. beside all you need is a red 1/4 topp from Kirk to finish off the look and Rosses speedie would be ready to roll.. !
Speedster "D" Always unique!

Ross Foon: Just saw a car similar to yours on eBay. 1600 w/air, just wondering how the a/c mated with the smaller engine works?

Steve ... not too well. In my opinion, engine is underpowered for A/C. It drives fine, but when I turn on the AC it fells like I'm pulling a trailer with a couple ATVs loaded up. And actually, when I run the AC the idle dips too low, and it actually stalled on me a few times last summer. I recently installed a manual throttle adjustment so I can increase the idle when I have the AC running. I usually crank it up over 1200-1400 rpm's cause now I'm paranoid about it stalling. If I decide to keep it, I will eventually replace the engine.
Thanks Ross....sounds like a bad time with a/c.

Unfortunately where I live, AC is a must. Summers are consistently in the 90's, and having that cold air blow on you makes a huge difference even with the top down. The throttle adjustment works fine ... just can't go racing around town. It's kind of like driving my 65 bug with the 1200 engine.
