Looking for "Big Guy" Vintage Speedster in Florida...

HI ALL! I am new here and have driven a VS Widebody and my 6'4"'s had me looking over the windshield with the standard 914 cut-down seats. I have read all the suggestions and spoke to VS about their "big guy" mods. Does anyone have one in South Florida??? I sure would like to sit in it and drive it around the block to see if I fit. Let me know. Thanks!!!

I'm 6'5", more body than legs, and have a Vintage. I ended up having a new seat cushion made, cut down on the padding by about three fourths. Still looks "okay", unless you look real close. But it does give me that little bit I needed to look through the windshield, and I even have more than an inch above my head with the top up.

Why don't you join us at Morro Bay on April 24th, 25th and 26th? Right now, I think the count is about 35 cars - probably lots of different seats and configurations to try out. Plus, you couldn't go wrong joining in the fun!

An alternative is going to Carlisle in May - a bit closer. I went three years ago and fell in love. Ended up buying one three weeks after I got home!

Cal--you need to drive to Hot Springs, spend the night here then caravan to Carlisle with me. Day 1, Knoxville, day 2 Christiansburg, d1y3 arrive Carlisle. We pick Hoss up in KX, a couple more on the way to C'burg and 3-4 more there and more before Carlisle.
Also--I so want to do Morrow Bay--maybe next year.

I saw quite a few big men driving Speedstera at Carlisle and anyone could get some good ideas on how to get a car that "fits" 'em at Carlisle like you did.---Jack

I'm considering a JPS " classic speedster" as a future purchase. I'm 67, 6'tall and weigh 230lbs. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, ROLS
