I want to add some driving lights but haven't found any with the look I want on ebay or Craigslist that were reasonable. Any suggestions?
i am tired of people pulling out in front of me, hope lights will help some.

These are nice: http://www.ebay.com/itm/670-68...-bulbs-/251123770939

If I could suggest a couple of considerations:
1. Do you know what size you want? There is a significant difference in how they look from the 4" size to the 6" size.
2. Are you going to mount them on a bumper or to the body? There are differences in the mounting and bracket systems.
3. Driving (clear) vs. fog (yellow or amber) light?
4. Stainless, chrome or stainless and black ABS backs?
5. Classic (Marchal or Lucas) or it doesn't matter?
6. Prices can run from less than $200 to $1,000 depending on your answers to the above.
7. Other sources than ebay or Craigslist range from sellers on the Samba to all the makers and parts houses such as Stoddard, Sierra Madre, Pelican etc. Also the VW parts places if you want the 4" in particular.
You might review the previous threads on driving lights as well.
You might already have considered all this but I thought I'd toss it out there.

The option I went with. 6", driving, less than $200 installed on the car not the bumper, chrome is of the same quality as that on the rest of my VS.
Refer to a thread started by Jack Crosby on April 9, 2012 about installation kits for driving/fog lights. About halfway through the thread Ron O provides a wiring diagram for hooking the lights up.
Good luck!
Until you get your driving lights installed, you may want to turn on your headlights every time you drive. You may see that it makes a difference in how other cars notice your presence. At least you will have an idea of how effective your driving lights will be when you mount them. Don't forget to turn them off when you park on the street!
What Jim said x2! You want your low-riding Speedster to be as visible as possible in traffic. I always take my daytime drives with my headlights (on bright) and driving lights as well. I wired a blue LED light just below my dash that reminds me my lights are on.
Also install a loud-a$$ airhorn so EVERYONE in your vicinity of the road can hear you (while they are on their phone or not paying attention). I maintain my 'BEEP-BEEP' horn on my steering wheel button, and mounted the air-horn button just below my headlight switch!
Next time you're driving, take a quick glance in your rear view mirror and see how much more noticeable a car with headlights is.

Can't find Crosby's 9 April '12 thread
Wiring driving lamps to the ignition seems like a good idea!!

April 9, 2012 - Speedsters/Technical General/"Fog Light Wiring Kit"(title of thread) Jack Crosby started it.
Scroll down to about halfway and you will see a copy of the wiring diagram that was posted.
If you continue to have trouble let me know and I can try to e-mail it to you.
Carl - Here is the basic wiring diagram for relay to lights.
Those light add a nice detail to the front of the car, Jimbo! Extra light (better visability) while driving couldn't hurt either!
Bob G, where did you source the Omega lights

ISP West
6" Driving/Fog Lights, clear lens, 1 pair
Part # ZVW120C
$68.95
Drop the "C" off the end of the part number and that gets you the amber lens rather than the clear lens.
You may also want to order:
Bosch 12 volt relay, 20/30 amp
Part # 0332019150
$9.00
You can get the appropriate additional wiring at an auto store. determine what you want to use for a switch, and use the wiring diagram posted above by MUSBJIM. The chrome is OK, not great.
I mounted mine directly to the car body. Simply drilled the holes after taking measurements. (Hint: make the measurements from landmarks on the body. Don't incorporate measurements from the ground up as the cars ride height on one side might differ from height on the other.)
The adjustments for aiming the lights articulate side to side and up and down and are part of the mounting bracket system.
Good luck.
I like to buy relays with the harness/plug. Much easier to use and cleaner looking.
