Marty: What type of film is that? I'm picking up a few stone chips in my car.
Bob
Bob, I have the same film on my car it is Expel or Xpel. There are actually 3 companies with similar products and the jury is out as to who is better but one thing for sure is that they are getting better as the years go by. i.e.: no yellowing, some claim self healing. You can see it on my car when we see each other. It helps, but again it is not perfect but much less PITN to use than an old fashion bra. Ray
P.S. I had a BC supplier do it when the car was being built at IM. IF you ask the P club someone in your area for sure does it.
Thanks, Ray
Just washed my car from the trip up here. Amazing the bugs there are even in the day.

I do you remember this style bra, and I am still trying to decide if I go old school or clear film bra. I will pass on this but recommend you post on the real 356 site or on Samba. There are always people looking for original style products. Thanks again for sharing this info.
Bob .... the darker the car the more you wash it
Bob, bugs are no fun .... I forgot to mention that I used to live where GM has a cold weather testing station Minus 42F or C winters.... There we had only two seasons.... Frost Bite and Fly bite ...the flies were unbelievable.

Bob---check out the Lanka paint chip repair system. Easy to use and undetectable where the repaired chip was. Doesn't work on metallic paint. My VS is acrylic enamel and it repairs perfectly.
Good luck with fixing those chips.
Vintage Speedster makes a very attractive bra ---about $50.
Thanks, Jack
Looks great: http://www.langka.com/
Fixing chips is a labour of love and mostly patience not to mention you can screw up big time..
Just dropped my speedster off for Xpel installation, will post pics sometime tomorrow.
FL has the dreaded LOVE BUG - when they smash on your paint it leaves an acid-like substance that permanently marks unprotected paint. Love bugs are prevalent in all Gulf Coast states (to include Georgia and NC). In some places they are so great in numbers the cause engines to overheat by blocking radiators. It is recommended they be washed off painted surfaces within 24 hours.
We have those here (coastal SC) as well, although not in the numbers they do in FL. If they leave something that etches paint it will probably damage a clear bra as well. You can't polish or touch up a clear bra.
Florida bikers call the m "The Breakfast of Champions"...... I always wondered where that phrase came from.....
Lane you can't polish your Film Bra but you can definitely wax it. Keeping it waxed makes it easy to remove bugs with warm soapy water.
Oh I definitely wax it. Nobody likes an unwaxed bra!
Gee and all this time I thought it was the wires that was an issue
Imagine wires in your private wear
Looking great! I really like that color!
Desi - Good advice but the comfort level you have with these cars is much higher than most.
On a new build if you could coordinate the wrapper with the builder then your really off to the races..

He pulled the hood handle, horn grills and was able to tuck the film under the headlight rubber seal. Bumpers came out amazing. This is what he was working on when I picked up this morning.
MUCH WANT! Love me some Cayman GT4!
