John, I'm looking forward to meeting you and your car. I'm pretty sure that these guys can help you sort out the problem areas of your coupe.  That's what they like to do. You won't be "bothering" anyone I'm sure.

I also had a AH 3000, a '60 544 and a '66 2 stroke Saab.  In fact I was on the hunt for a P1800 when I showed my wife the speedster replicas. She fell in love with the looks and eventually hit the" buy it now" button on E-bay. (after I told her I wanted to research a little more!) Sometimes she does what she wants no matter what I say.  I've been sorting out things big and small for almost 8 years, and I think I'm getting pretty close to the end...but it's always something.  The help I got from these guys has kept me almost sane.

All my wife says is, "do it now, you're a long time dead".

What I know about John Steele.

Last year on July 7, I flew out to LA from Ga. to build my Speedster with John.

From the beginning I thought he was way too busy. His shop looks like it's from the 1920's. The phone rang almost continuously, most of the time un-ansewred, customers were coming in. So I just looked around and wondered if I had made the right decision, especially after spending $1000 for the plane and one night motel.

John works as hard as anybody in his shop, also takes care of the business. To me that's the main problem. He dosen't have time to answer the phone. That was the hardest thing about this process.

I went sometimes 2 or 3 weeks before he would acknowledge my call, that was tough.

I guess another problem was John advertises 3 and a half months to build a car, but it took over 7 months.

Before all this I did my research on the builders for this car, and John had the best reviews for the money.

If he would hire someone to answer the phone, that would help a lot.

Last Saturday I entered my first car show and was Best of Show Winner.

  Have lots of patience

Steve in Knoxville, can take up to 5 years. Some of us might not be around long enough to ever see it.
