Anyone have experience with buying reproduction speedster seats? Would appreciate any referrals or tips when switching out the reclining leather ones in my Beck. Would I need new seat rails as well? Appreciate any help, thanks.

Yep mine recline and have headrests, it was manufactured in 2004. I want the low back seats with the two vertical openings in the backrest, believe these are considered speedster seats, but not 100% on the terminology
I would go straight to Carey Hines www.beckspeedster.com. I'm sure that he has them in stock and will be able to tell you exactly what you need.
Hi Peter,
Before you go the time and expense of swapping out your seats, make sure that you do a thorough test of the seats you are contemplating, ones that are the same as you will install. Drive a car that has them for at least a couple of hours.
CMCs all came with the slotted Speedster seats - with only about 18" of room that's about all that would fit. They are not particularly comfortable if your waist is much over 36". The Becks have a lot more floor room so ones from SE might be wider. Most would envy yours with reclining backs --- and leather to boot.
If your current seats are fiber shells under neath and replacement seats are same width - old tracks would most likely work. Most use a universal track.
Fibersteel has then for Spyders and the Speedsters they say coming soon. No idea of dimensions or cost.

Great advice all around, thanks. I am pretty slim so should fit, and I was looking for more support since I upgraded the suspension. But will definitely "try one on" before switching out.
Thanks again, great forum here.
I'd be interested in seeing pictures of the reclining seats. I wasn't aware that Beck ever did that, and I wonder if they were a custom feature. They may not look quite right, but I'll bet they're comfortable.
Pics. Location?
Sorry guys, pics on their way, in shop awaiting parts from midwest and New England, will get them later this week. Location is blessed Miami!!
here are the promised seat pictures. they really are comfortable but the front of the seat doesn't support under my thighs and as i toss the car around the misses starts to look like a ping pong ball as she slides from side to side. These seats are in really good shape, so i'll probably sell them when i buy the sport ones which i will mount with a spacer on the front lugs to get some rake in the seat. Thoughts?
Wow. I wonder what those originally came out of.
Man, those seats look really, really good. If they were mine, I would probably keep them in there and not "toss the car around" with my wife in it. But that's me.
If I felt I had to change them for "sport" seats, I'd keep them until I was very sure said "sport seats" made my bottom happy, then sell them next season.
But that's me too.
i spoke with Kevin at beck and he said the seats were special ordered by the original owner, an older guy with bad back. Need more lateral support as well as bolsters under my thighs. I am going to try to raise the front of the seats at the mounting points and see if that addresses the under thigh support. They are really nice leather seats, like I said if/when I get sport seats I will definitely sell them.
