A local South African company has just started making the hood badge and I bought one about 3 weeks ago, cost me all of R90 which is about $11.00.

A bit shiney as it has a clear gel coat over the front, but it's a very good copy.

Does anyone know if the badge on an IM hood handle can be removed and replaced with one of these? I guess what I'm asking is are they the same handle with interchangeable emblems?

Peter, an IM is way out of my league ... but if I had one, I might spend a couple dollars and buy an entirely new hood-handle assembly and simply remove the IM-installed one and preserve it intact. Put the one you want on there, and then put the IM back on for the sake of sale if or when the time comes.
There's an intrinsic value to an IM that few others carry. It's really the one to look for in a used car, and I'd hate for you to end up robbing yourself over something that relatively "small."
