I am looking for a project speedster , either one that is not fully assembled or needs TLC ,

I am located in Philadelphia  and one close to me would be great but also open to all projects. I am not really concerned about maker of the speedster just interested in getting one and to start working on a speedster.

Thank you

How about this one, Ron?

That's my favorite IM.  Bob, is it a 3.2 with a G50?

I came very close to having my car painted that color.

Yes, those wheels are nice too.  I bet they weren't cheap.

I'm pretty sure I read that Matt the owner of that IM went down to 16's once he owned the car for a bit.

At that time the car was primer or silver. The front was cobbled together.  At that time it was listed with the 5 original wheels and a box of spare engine parts.

My guess is that after a year or so, that front end will start to show it's cobbled together roots.

Buyer beware.

Ted

Ted, curiosity has the better of me.!

First of all, I personally think replacing the graceful compound curves of an "A" nose with a blunter T6 "B/C" is an aesthetic boo-boo having left the "A" headlights in position...But other than why it was done,... how was it done?

You recall it being cobbled in bits and pieces. Were those pieces metal spliced seamlessly onto the fiberglass?...or did they appear to be fiberglass sections puzzled together?

The nose appeared to have two pieces scabbed onto what was left of the original fiberglass nose. I don't recall if they were metal or fiberglass. I tried to find the old photos on-line, but I wasn't able to find them. I'm nearly positive it's the same car.

I'd be very interested to see the back side of that nose.

I really need to start saving the images of all these crap cars we find.

Ted

Ted,

you are spot on it is the same car that was on the samba in new jersey and funny enough he just bought it back from who he sold it to in Florida.  I was curious as well as not too many front ends like that out there.  It looks a lot better painted  (from the outside that is), buuut as you said with the cobbled together front end maybe the buyer saw the not too pleasant results underneath.  I like the idea of an "a" "c"  model blend but this one didn't rise to the occasion.

yep I bought it back ---I was just in a bind and had to let it go ---the gentleman in fla took it to another level an since things have gotten better with my wifes hospital bills from her car accident--- I had a chance to buy it back ----I am not a purist --I have always changed things ---built no joke over 30 kit and speciality cars over my life --from Valkyries to corvette gtps to Miami vice corvette that traveled with the world of wheels auto show --kelmarks-- manta mirages 3 of those ---v8 boxster---its been fun just playing and having a good time doing it -for those of you asking --I made a mold off a c and grafted it on to a kit that I found in pa.---as far as susp. wise --plan to change that ---some really neat things are being done out there ----but first I have to finish my devin d      its the 4th one I have owned and raced one in Monterey last yr and had a blast-----speed on guys ---kaz

Wasn't that car for sale a while back?

I'd like to find out if it was.  Was it advertised here?

Bob, I could be wrong, but I think the car was advertised through Henry a while back.

When I was with Henry in his office, going over my restoration, he had a photo of that car on his wall.  I couldn't stop looking at it.

the speedster that has the c nose has nothing to do with henry ---I bought a speedsterbody in pa. ---grafted a c glass nose on to it --sold it to dan in fla --he feathered it in and I just bought it back---I know nothing about henry or the car being sold thru henry---I had it adver. on samba about 8mos. ago--I think--that's all I can tell you ---I am just going to play with it and take it to the next level and sell it  and build another project---I seem to be never short of them --ps I also own the piranha that was on samba ---just sold it to a guy in the Midwest ---IT ALL JUST FUN AND KEEPS LIFE INTERESTING---SPEED ON ---KAZ
