I am just about to order wide 5 disc brakes and will be running 5.5" steelies like you and was wondering if you could provide me with the specs on your brake setup?

Looks like CB (smooth face), but i was told the rear kit pushes out another 1/2" making running 5.5" rears a bit of a challenge.

Apprently the EMPI rear kit has zero offset, but the drums look different.

Do you have an IRS, or swing transaxle?

Paul, I'm running the SoCal wide 5's. I also have the CB drum skins that I've rattle canned a cast iron color for the appearance. My understanding is that the SoCal's require no offset for the wheels so clearance is easy. The brakes are a little heavier than the CB's though. I also have IRS. And thank you for the complement.

So . . . more importantly, you should have been at the IM BBQ this last weekend. Great fun, a wonderful bunch of people and you would have had the opportunity to see the variations on about 30 cars.

I'd looked at soCal's setup (which are actually AC Industries), but apparently they cannot be used with drop spindles.

Those are Mangel 5.5" wheels right? and you are running a drum skin... what is your rear clearance like?

AND . . . the most important question . . . . what is that green color? Name, code, manufacturer, everything!

Paul, I believe that's correct.

TC, the color is called Stonegray and the paint code is POR5710. Henry does all his cars in Glasurit so it must be available through them. I agree that it would be a great coupe color . . . outlaw, of course!!

I forgot to add, Paul, that they are 5.5" Mangles. Clearance at the front sway bar is 3.5" and at the Thinline sump right at 3".

Not at low as Bruce Gordon's! 8>)

sorry - i meant inner fender to tire clearance in the rear.

About 1/4" and that's with 3 degrees decamber.
