Looking for used VINTAGE SPEEDSTER

Just curious as to why before April 2010 with a 1950-1969 pan ??????

Because i live in switzerland, europe. before april 2010 it was not a problem to homologate a vintage speedster here in switzerland, after the law came it was over! so a vintage speedster MUST be: 1. a vintage speedster (company) 2. built before april 2010 3. built on VW BUG chassis 1950-1969!

i know kirk duncan since a long time and we imported a lot of cars from him. .but since the law came we have to look specificly for cars like above described. if you have or now....please e-mail us: pete@avenue-graphic.com

hi theron, NOT europe, its a specific SWISS LAW. germany, austria etc has diffrent roules. but we look specificly for used vintage speedsters built before april 2010!

no, dealer.. we imported a lot vintage speedsters in the past! we look only for used ones, not new ones - see reason above!

- built what year, condition, color, engine ccm, etc.... ! i know the prices and look for fair offers. transport/shipping from USA not a problem!

yes....we look always for used vintage speedsters! used and built before april 2010!

can be shown with title, insurane card etc.

Just curious, how would Swiss authorities verify the year that VS assembled the car?

There's no identification plate on the car that indicates it's a 'Vintage Speedster' or when it was built.

I have a dated build sheet stamped 'paid', but that's not considered a legal document here. Do you need to produce such a document in order to sell or register the car there?

And why is VS "superior" to say a JPS or a FF/CMC?  All are VW shortened pan based vehicles with same safety (or lack of) features.  Not that government law have to make sense - just seems unusual.

This particular car has been sorted by a man we on the Speedster Owner site have nicknamed "the wizard".   You can be confident that this car will serve you well. 

This car will sell in days, I'm betting.

hi mitch,

some speedsters are with plates and some not. every speedster from VS is a bit diffrent. actually what helps is:

1. if the title (issued BEFORE 2010) says the car is a CONV (for convertible) and our VW datashet we get from wolfsburg says the car (original VW bug) was a SEDAN means it became a convrtible.

2. old insurance cards helps to. most of them says its insured as 356 speedster replica!

every info what shows it is built as speedster (before 2010) helps!

yes, you are right but in switzerland you need special documentation about a car-model. we hav it only for VS so we hav to stay with thi specific model.
