After months of looking. I'm suffering from information anxiety!!!
Urrggg. After seeing many of the cars on this site, as well as looking at the new IM cars. I am thoroughly confused at this point.

I've spent the last 2 months bidding on 356's on e-bay to no avail. I've looked at a couple of used turnkeys in my area, and was disappointed at what people consider "excellent condition". Maybe I hold too high of a standard when it comes to what I want and expect to get for my money.
I've gotten scared to bid without a first hand inspection.

Is there anyone in the NY Hudson Valley area that could show me what a real nice 356 should look like? What's the best engine for the horsepower vs maintenance?

Would love some feedback from all the Porsche Afficionados out there. Is there any one looking to sell a gently used 356's?

Drop me an email: jetli64@hotmail.com

Many Thanks!
Mel

Mel,

First, check in the registry on this site for owners near you and send them an e-mail, you might find someone who would invite you to see their car.

Second, several Speedster manufacturers/builders and many Speedsters -both turnkey and homebuilt - will be at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania May 21-23 for the East Coast National Speedster Meet. This is just a couple of hours drive from you and will be a great opportunity to see the cars and talk to the owners and manufacturers. You can get more details in the "Events" section of this site or by clicking on the "Speedster at Carlisle East" link on the "Newest" page.

Stop by the Speedsters East hospitality tent and say hello.
your email address doesnt work

I know a guy here in Iowa who has an older CMC that he rebuilt. I am going to go look at it this weekend, but if it is anything like the condition he says it is in, it would be perfect for you........let me know if your interested, I think he wants 12,500 for the car and it is completely sorted out and ready to drive. I would be happy to take pictures and email them if this is something your looking for?
Bruce, Steven & Paul!

Thanks for the quick replies. Just hearing from you guys helped ease the anx- of making the right decision when it comes along. I would love to pick all your brains, unfortunately i'm a bit pre-occupied with a cat in the emergency room. $750 and counting.

Many Thanks.
