Hello Speedster owners,

My name is Pierre and I am the CEO of Vinty, a marketplace for classic car rentals (http://drivevinty.com/). I posted here a little while ago about my business.

One of my customer is looking for a speedster from the 50's or 60's for a couple of days during his wedding (August 19th & 20th). He is located in Los Angeles and would drive the car for about 100 miles total. Our company will run a Motor Vehicle Record to make sure he is a safe driver. The budget for this event is $800.

I am wondering if some of you are interested in renting their ride.

Any help would be really appreciated, thank you!

Regards, Pierre.

Pierre,

That's kind of like asking to borrow a man's underpants or his wife.  Mine has been used in two weddings for photographs only. I can't IMAGINE offering mine up for a 100 mile joy ride.  I wish you the best of luck in your quest.

I'd check with the guys at Beverly Hills Motorcars. They have a bunch of them to choose from.

 Good morning, Pierre!

I may be able to point you in the right direction …

I rented the Speedster pictured below in San Diego last September after finishing up a long drive in our own car from SFO down the PCH. It was a delight!

I'm not sure if the  San Diego owner would be willing to do a Los Angeles rental, but your budget sounds pretty nice…

( I noticed, about a month ago, that someone in Los Angeles had also put HIS Speedster on this app. However, I didn't see it when I did a search just a few minutes ago. It might still be there, but perhaps not available for the days that I searched.  Make sure to do your own search when you get the app.)

Anyway, I found the car through an app called TURO.  It is, essentialy, AirB&B for cars. The car is fully insured by TURO, not by the driver.  It's a brilliant business model, and one can rent anything from a Prius to a Maserati.

By the way, I have NO connection to the company, or the owner of the car, other than being a very satisfied customer...  My wife and I rented the tub and cruised around San Diego and Coronado for two days. I hadn't yet purchased my own Speedster then, but those two days certainly solidified my decision!

Download the app (TURO), contact the car's owner, and see what you can work out with him. He's a very nice guy…

Below is a screenshot of the car from the app this morning, and a few pics of my wife and me enjoying it last September…

Godspeed!
