Just joined the Forum and excited to research and learn all about the speedsters. I have to get one because I just fell in love with this thing. Going to dig in and do some searches for the usual newbie questions. I am generally a huge purist but that Subaru engine might be something I have to consider. What I would love to find out is if there are any Speedster owners in CT that I can come and visit and check their car out. Not looking for test rides but I want to see one in the flesh. Thanks in advance.

Click on the MEMBERS tab then change SORT ON NAME to VIEW AS MAP and hone in on CT. Will show by city/town - but they might not actually own one currently.
Thank you sir.
Haha! Just checked and not an active or inactive speedster owner in CT. Oh well.
There isn't any the CT taxes don't leave much left over for toys ~ ~
you have that right but thats a whole other story...truth be told I didn't drill down enough on the State, there are several but most have been inactive for years. I did contact one gentlement close by, see how it goes. Local PCA has a show on the 17th of June and features 356's so thats a start...not sure how they view replica's but who knows...
Contact Ashcreek in Bridgeport, CT. He has a IM replica, a real 356 Coupe and an Autodynamics Hustler (Lotus Elan-look classic fiberglass racer with a 356 engine) - that may well be for sale. Search here for Hustler pictures and car info.

Thanks Wolfgang. Is Ashcreek a resto shop? I'm not ready to buy anything just yet and I doubt he would want to (nor would I want to do it to him) waste his time if I am not ready to buy. My goal is to meet with people who have these cars (not selling) so I can have an in-depth conversation...thoughts?
He is an enthusiast - very talented guy. Yes he does restorations - but the 3 you see in one photo are his cars. He most likely has contacts on other owners/cars.
ok, thank you WG, I will contact him for sure. You happen to know his name?
Greg you ok with storm there?
Sent name in PM
We got some rain, rough surf (lots of undertow) but not much wind. Flash Flood warnings out and rain for next few days. HA, kept tourist traffic way down over a normally crowded weekend.
Weird, we got, and are still getting a lot of rain and had big winds into the evening last night. What a difference 15 miles can make in these storms! Glad you are good Greg. We have some limbs and trees down, and the Alaqua and LaGrange bayous, Lafayette and Black Creeks are out of their banks in some places and our retention ponds are starting to overflow. some of the real low lying homes are flooded but the newer stuff is just fine, including us.
I hope this isn't a harbinger of the season to come.
Hi,
I recently bought the blue intermechanica Speedster shown above at Ash Creek motors. She a beauty and was rebuilt B by Tullio Ferie and old friend and excellent Porsche mechanic. I am in Southbury and would love to get together with other local owners someday.
This is on a 67 VW floor and the engine has had about as much racing mods done on it that one can.

Don, I would LOVE to get together with you. Best I can do now is bring my Boxster S or Cobra replica but I would love to see you car and take a drive in it (you driving of course)...lmk if/when you are available. Best to email me at fzabski@trmacs.com
Frank, sure. Next time you are up around here or I down there let's get together. I do not like to take it on the highway much though. I may be down in Fairfield in around a week or so.
What is the cobra replica built on? Is it the old flat sided one?
Beautiful!
What motor?
