low bow hood

Hi all, finished speedster but now need hood! coz livin in UK the weather can be wet ! has anyone got a pattern of fabric hood or the bars extra ? Or no were to sorce one in UK ?

In American english, the hood covers the front compartment (on most cars, this means the engine). I think you're looking for a "top" :)

Boot is trunk, Bonnet is engine lid, But the thing that covers the seating compartment.. We here in the states call that a TOP... or rag top , or drop top..

I have a pair of high-top (hood) bows for a CMC kicking around in my garage, but I plan on using them on a current project. I also know the dimensions for a low-top (hood), so I could provide those as well.

I would be more than happy to make drawings or templates of them so you could duplicate them over there (it would cost way more to ship something like this to the UK than they're worth).

Let me know if you would like drawings and I'll see what I can do.

these are nothing more than two pieces of thin-walled tubing.

Nice car! I'm assuming its a rep? Did you IVA it?

I am currently mid build and planning on chucking it at a body shop for prep and paint.

are you asking me? what is IVA?

IVA = UK only compliance testing for home built vehicles

sort of. i had to go through the Canadian version of if it. extensive safety testing and structural integrity testing. i had to get it certified for insurance. lots of trailering it around paying people to look / cert / test it.

Gordon, if you get around to do it, I'd be interested in a copy as well.
