Getting ready for some serious garage/creeper time this weekend as girlfriends out of town. I have a situation with the lower ball joint to inside wheel clearance which works OK as long as the wheel weight is placed farther inboard on the rim. I had spun  both wheels while on jack stands with no issue but in my test drive I took a hard left hander and heard a noise, later to find out the wheel weight had been wiped off.

I've enclosed a few pics and was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue. I'm running 15x6 Fuchs with drop spindles  and disc brakes from CB. The rusty area on the control arm is from the sway bar hanger as I had to remove it for clearance which was only an issue on one side.

This is why drop spindles are built with some offset; typically 1/4 to 1/2". If they put the wheel/tire in the same position as stock, very few (if any) 15" wheels would fit. I'm surprised the caliper doesn't clear; I hadn't heard of that one before.Wolfgang's suggestion of spacers is the fix. Al

PS- Have you driven it with and without the sway bar? Did you notice any difference?

Michael, sometimes that's what it takes. Having driven a 5 1/2" dropped bug for transportation (stock spindles, beam cut, 135's), I can say that the dropped spindles fix more problems than they create. I've often wondered why no one makes a 2" dropped spindle; wouldn't that eliminate the wheel interference problems? Al
