I'm new to the site but have tried to do my homework. I searched on windshield installation info and still have a question. I am installing the windshield on a 93 CMC that I just purchased. The car is partially assembled. My question is do I have to try to tip the vertical edge of the aluminum mounting extrusion toward the back to more closely match the rake of the windshield? If I don't, it looks like the gasket will be distorted and installation would be difficult or am I missing something?

It looks like the edge of the extrusion should be bent back at 45 deg. if not more. It also appears to be difficult to do. Help!

In the instrution book it looks almost like you are supposed to put the lip into a slot in the rubber, however, on all the the cars I have owned this is not the case. You put down a layer of windshield sealent and basically put the bottom lip into that. The lip effectivly works as a stop for the windshield. Hope that helps.
Ron, just a tip, when installing the windshield be careful not to excert any bending force on it, these things crack easily. Work it slowly and carefully, what I did was to leave the screws of the aluminum frame a little loose until the windshield was on in its place, then tighted them from the inside. (I also have a '93 CMC)
