I was reading a post a short while ago that discussed suspensions, shocks, short shocks etc. I was thinking about my ball joints and how I had just bought a new set of upper and lower that we're standard units.  Having what I think is a cut and welded beam up front my car is lower so I called CIP and spoke to a tech guy and asked about the need to buy the special ball joints with more travel for a lowered car.  He said unless the car was 'slammed' it was not necessary to get the lowered ball joints.  Does this seem right to you guys?

Any ideas welcomed (well, almost any,use your judgement please).

That's why many people install drop spindles on a stock beam.  Drop spindles don't affect the ride quality, unlike a cut and welded beam.

Unfortunately, drop spindles don't work for many speedster owners because they drop the front end too much (2.5").  I installed drop spindles on my IM and ended up switching back to regular spindles soon after.

When you buy a set of shorter length shocks stay away from a gas shock.  Gas shocks are too stiff for our light front ends.

Too true.  I had gas shocks in the car when I bought it last year.  I put regular oil filled shocks in and that helped bit it's still a little rough.  I have some shorter oil filled shocks coming in the mail this week so we'll see.  I also have 17" wheels too so that doesn't help.  All this stuff is from the PO so I have so keep sorting until I get it right.
Thanks, Frank
