After 43 projects some day ( winter) I'll do a List of Horrors I've come across on home built speedsters.
If you want the proper GT look, the nuts should also be black. Ask me how I know
Alan: DON'T DO THAT!!!
All that will do is point out all of the things I screwed up during my build.
All those bad memories pouring back could be detrimental to my inner being, ya know?
There ain't enough local wine in Massachusetts to make that all better.........
I may have to resort to Scotch to recover. Not necessarily a bad thing, just more expensive than local stuff.
I still LoL at Alan's story of the can of Contact Cement left sealed on a kerosene space heater!
This is my most embarrassing moment (ok, other than closing the frunk with the prop rod outside the opening. (Honestly, it looked centered when on the jack stands).
A memorable event that was an empty 3M adhesive can that mysteriously ( not by my hand) ended up sitting on top of a hot kerosene heater
The explosive result didn't exactly make it look "empty"......
This is what immediately comes to my mind! Who ya going to call? Ghost Busters ...
I remember a time when I was a kid, and my Dad had put a can of Purina dog food on the electric stove "just for a few seconds" to warm it up (this was before Microwave ovens).
Then, the phone rang and he answered it, forgetting the can while he was talking.
Suddenly......"BLAM!!!" The can blows the top off and straight up, embedding it into the ceiling.
Dog food all over the kitchen. Luckily, our house was old - the only phone was in the central hall, away from the kitchen, or he would have been covered with dog food, too. The place smelled like dog food for weeks.
The things you remember on this forum.....
Yup, this forum has brought back a few forgotten memories!
