Guys, I have searched the site, and read, and read, (most) of the threads dealing with luggage racks. BUT...while I found out that the VS racks do not fit the CMC's without removal and cutting, I did not see if there is any rack that will go on the existing CMC hibachi grate with a minimum (read - very, very little)- of work. Any help/advice appreciated mucho. Any photos would be nice too.

Thanks
Grant

The original ones (like Leitz and Reutter) generally have multiple mounting holes to accommodate OEM 356's with either a single or dual grilles. Check out (for repro of the Reutter one):

A chrome bolt was used to mount them to the metal engine lids. These are costly and most need to be rechromed. Some are actally much larger than the engine lid which makes them look strange IMHO. These could be used on a CMC with some reinforcing of the fiberglass were they mount. AMCO also made aftermarket ones in the '60-70's that I suspect would fit too (and these seem to be the size of the lid).
