The "original" that came on my CMC bolted through the decklid surrounding the grille. This was fine for appearances but it wouldn't hold squat - lid isn't strong enough. Get these really cool cracks in the gelcoat. Believe the VS ones mount through the grill and bolt to the substrate below it, which seems to work.

The one from Vintage will NOT fit the CMC "Hibachi" grill (there isn't enough space to get the mounting bars thru the grill) -- The parts guy at Vintage will tell you that ---- you will need to also buy the Vintage grill and trim the fiberglass opening 1/4" to make their grill fit. Do Search on this on the Forum.

Thanks every one for your help.I found one at a swap meet,a nice era rack for $20. it fits and looks great! The guy thought it was for a moterbike.

Anthony - Can ya post a picture of it -- curious to see if its an old AMMCO and how it fits.
