How do the reproduction luggage racks install? Do you have to remove the grill?

Rack from VS: Remove the grill, mark and drill four mounting holes (I use short pcs. of fuel line hose over the threded studs) as I tightened the mounting nuts it makes up the differences in fiberglass height. VS rack will not fit through a CMC grill with out mods.

Yup - legs on VS rack will not go thru the cast hibachi grill. A VS or OEM grill will not fit a CMC lid unless you enlarge the opening 1/4". I found an old AMCO 356 rack which is smaller trunk lid size.
