If I've seen things right down at Intermeccanica, it looks like Henry is setting up to reproduce luggage racks. Looks like polished SS. If you can't find one anywhere else, and can wait a bit until he has it down, you might be able to get one from Henry.

I've looked over the various originals (Leitz) and the repros. The one that VS has for $175 looks to be the right size to complement the single grille on most Speedsters. Check out a photo of Jim Ward's really sharp Speedster. The others seem much larger than the trunk lid (more for the later twin grille models - see cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2471768427&category=42606&sspagename=WDVW) plus they are quite costly even used and often need to be rechromed and are missing the mounting bolts. I'm waiting to look at Carlisle vice messing with mailing one.

You said the magic word - Carlisle. It sounds like you plan to attend but I don't have your name on the "registered" list. There are a few other people coming from your direction. Have you registered yet? Are you bringing your Speedster?

Stainless steel would be great. Has he projected a cost? I've bought several chromed steel pieces for a 4x4 and the chroming is done in Mexico. Within 6 months the rust starts where they were held it for dipping - even when they are waxed. Then a year or so there is rust all over.

I'm getting one from Vintage, only $175.
