Luggage rack mounting

I got my VS luggage rack. Does it mount to the grill or the actual hood? I have the CMC grill and it mounted to it without any modifications but would require extensive mods to mount it to the hood. Just wondered which way was right.

Scott,

My Vintage Speedster Rack is mounted by 4 holes drilled in the fiberglass gutter under the grill. The 4 post from the rack go thur the grill then to the gutter.

Nice looking Speedster!!!
