Jane, is your rack vintage as in Vintage Speedster in Hawaiian Gardens or Vintage as in original from back in the day.

And NO Vince I didn't mean that kind of vintage rack...

The guy I know wants me to give him an offer on his original Lietz rack and I don't know what its worth. Any ideas? I have a photo somewhere as soon as I find it I'll post it.
Thanks,
Greg
yea I guess I should of clarified it's a vintage speedster rack and I really don't know prices too well on these but I am going to keep my eye on an ebay auction just listed today but pictures would be great if you could.

Aaah, good question Jane... I can't answer because I'm only familiar with 356 Porsche grills which have four threaded tabs to bolt the rack support legs to, and the VC grill which lacks such tabs. I don't know if your grill comes from the same supplier as the Vintage ones.

To facilitate the ease of attaching mine I'm going to mig weld 10/32 nuts (unobtrusively I hope) to the underside of the grill for the long bolts extending through the hollow supporting legs to mate with. (that doesn't sound right, does it!)

I'm sure that somebody with definative knowledge will jump in here to answer your question...Cheers, Carl
OK I thought so unless you knew something that didn't. I think it'd be worth the effort for sure will have to talk to my friend who does the work for me to put it on the priority list so far we installed miata seats with separate headrest, removed engine and took apart for rebuild, removed og crusty carpeting, raised steering column for more steering wheel clearance between my legs and new seats and removed bumper and sent to CA for front overider bar not too bad for getting it less than a week ago. But you made a good point Mango and I will update the process and call on your expertise if needed if that's OK.
