I've lived with two ruptured discs for over 30 years. Sometimes, I'm fine, sometimes not. I have a variety of pillows, braces, and gadgets that help me when my back is bad.

My suggestion is that you take a bath towel, fold it in half the long way, and roll it up. Stick some masking tape on it to hold the shape. You want a roll that's as wide as your back, and about 4-5" thick. Place that on the seat back slightly elevated from the pad. You'll know when it's in the right spot, depending on which disc is bad.

Try that inexpensive home remedy for a while. If it brings relief, then you could consider buying something more professional.
Well, to be blunt, James Dean died young...

For the rest of us who are of a "certain age" - well, we make compromises. We've got inflatable lumbar in our Ford truck. Very nice. It is power, but you can get a simple system that is manual. You know the little rubber hand pump that is used for blood pressure cuffs? Looks like that with the bladder mounted inside the seat.

If said addition lets you drive the car more - knock yourself out.
