Maggie Valley Weather Thread

Um, since it's just the 15th, how can a 10-day forecast go through the 29th?  Just askin' for a friend. 

I graduated from Tremont High School. We lernt readin’ and rightin’ and ‘rithmicin’.

Clearly, it’s a 14 day forecast, but I’ll ask that the gentlemen from Charleston refrain from banging on me as long as he’s still thinking of bugging out (of the event he’s organizing) because his dogs might get lonely.

Well, no......   It’s Saturday.  We’re doing Mimosas.

Unfortunately it's a crap shoot around here with the rain. It's going to rain somewhere at sometime. Unless a specific weather system rolls through, it's pretty unpredictable this year.

We'll just have to wait a few more days and see.

As of today:

50% (+/-) Wed- Friday, diminishing to 25-30% (+/-) Sat, Sun.

Fingers are crossed and wood is knocked upon.

I'm thinkin' we'll make it happen, no matter what, but I am bringing an extra roll of blue tape, and a few towels.  Used quite a lot at Carlisle this year . . .

Need daily updates from the boots (Carlos) on the ground.

Wed./Thurs. doesn't look all that hot, but the rest of this is better than it has been.

I've been keeping track of the forecast and it changes daily. Such as it goes around here.

Me too. It changed markedly from this AM til tonight. What is consistent is Wed./Thursday being wetter than Fri-Sun.  

Yeah, I think "arrival day" is pretty much guaranteed to mess up our fresh wax jobs.  Maybe that's so we don't worry about them for the rest of the trip.

And not Tony the Tiger - "GRRR ...REAT!"  Pours buckets today in NW FL so assume that is what is headed North by Wednesday.  Retired so I don't need to schedule vacations days - but I know others do have to stick with their dates.  I already canceled my room.

I’m going to trailer it. Plan remains the same: leaving this afternoon, driving to Louisville or thereabouts.

Don't come down here, we are drowning in the Panhandle. We have had storms rolling through every day for weeks. Not just the afternoon pop ups, but storms around the clock. I'm talking two or more downpours every day.

The fish are drowning and I have developed rust on several of my body parts.

I did a 70 mile fund-raising ride last Sunday and, while it was sunny, it peaked at 55° at noon.  Really chilly ride.  Today?  48° and downpours like in the Panhandle. Tomorrow?  80° highs and sunny.  WX is nuts everywhere.  

Very wet here in Baltimore as well, from the standpoint of water.

Bob - Apply a little dab of Knock'erLoose and wait 24 hours. Some say a second application may be required.

Does that come in a gallon container as well?

EPILOGUE: Mama Nature looked kindly upon us while in the mountains, provide generally gorgeous weather.  Some folks had rainy tripos there, and it was wet on Wednesday in Maggie Valley, but Thursday was nice enough for the Rattler and Friday through Sunday were pretty much perfect.

Yes, yes it was!

Mother Nature must be a car gal.

Hey Stan this the red 991 cab guy from Maggie valley. Hope every one had safe passage home. Did dragon on Sunday and the hwy . Too many bikes and cars! Rattler was more fun...my 4 cam is shipping to me  tomorrow but your motors were way cool...faster and more HP. Chris. Did you find the washer?
