Believe all 914 alloys (Pedrini, Fuchs, Mahle) have the same ET40 (4.4" backset?)
I had Pedrini wheels with 165/80x15 Michelin XZX tires on CMC - clearance on driver's side was tight (pinky space but I did grind fender lip and also thick inner wheel well)
I now have the 2L Fuchs with 185/65x15 Bridgestone and have about the same clearance.
I have stock drums with a '71 IRS rear so the long axles.
I think those wheels have the best look of any 4-lug wheels. I wonder what they'd look like in a Spyder. I'm so sold in the wide-5 steelie look, though.
I don't know why Porsche painted them for the 914 (white, orange, yellow even lime green - as used on 1973-74 special editions like the black/yellow bumble bee or the ivory/orange cremecicle). They look great media blasted - an understated classic look.
I agree they would look great on a Spyder or other exotic replica. Maybe add fake spinner knockoff?
