Well after installing the new alternator we fired up the speedster and discovered - long story short - that a washer and what looks like a roll pin had taken up residence in #3. Now I am looking for a new set of pistons to just do a quick rebuid without splitting the case. Seems that no one has any Mahle/Cima piston sets. What can/ should I do? I am really reluctant to use cast pistons and don't really want to increase compression, operating temperature and decrease cylinder wall thickness. Any thought that I can afford would be appreciated. And Carlisle is getting closer.
