maintenance

Can anyone recommend a reliable shop in the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa area to have oil changes, valve adjustments, tune ups? I like to fool with the car but at this stage in life I'd like a good place to have the car maintained when needed... Thanks.

If you can't find anyone local and If you don't mind traveling to Ontario, (about 45 minutes) north, I do mainenance, upgrades and repairs at my home)

Bring your own parts gaskits and oil. I tried this for a while as a side line. I'm not saying all folks but some, Note a few will expect a private shop to supply everything.

If someones gonna help you.,, Treat them well. Also the beer is only to be opened after the work passes it's final inspection.

Yes I think Larry has worked on this car in the past. Wish I was closer to his location. Wouldn't it be great to find a house call service guy !! That would eliminate the 4+ hour cool down wait before valve adjustments.

Bob, If Huntington Beach is close enough to you, Check out D&J auto. I listed the address on the "shops" section. Damien and his staff has worked on VW's for over 20 years. He seems like a very honest guy and has done good work on my speedster.
