I'm new to the forum. There is an interesting Speedster Replica on eBay - item # 4547136640. Seller seems to know very little about the details of the car. He bought it for his son as a graduation present and now the son is headed to England to attend Oxford (hence the sale). The build list is impressive (I think word for word from the previous owner - not the current seller). Current seller thinks Gene Berg built the car? Engines yes - Cars - I don't know. I've always wanted a 356 but I'm starting to face the reality of exploding prices and a dwindling supply of good cars. I have a 1975 911S that I love and have had plenty-o-sports cars over the years (all the Datsun Z's, S2000, Mini Cooper S, etc). Seller said he bought car in Sacramento, CA not long ago. Anyone know anything about it? Can anyone tell the "brand" by the details in the pictures? Thanks so much, Shayne

Shane, soneone will ID it for sure, but I think it's either an older Fiberfab or CMC. These can be good replicas... but in my opinion this may be one to pass on. The mechanicals all sound ok, but the hype about authenticity doesn't bear out in the pics. I could make a list of defects..... but just supersize the pic of the Speedometer and look at the cracks in the dash.

I would pass on this, especially at that inflated price.

An opinion only.
