Marchal driving lights

Hey all, has anybody installed a set of Marchal driving lights on your car. I am curious how time intensive it is, but more importantly, how difficult it is to drill into the bumber to install.

And Carey, if you read this, have Becks had any pre-wiring done to link the driving to the headlamps?

Drilling is easy, just know what is behind what you are drilling. You don't want to get to close to where the bumper bracket is bonded in or your fogs will want to sit at a funny angle. Once you've determined location, easiest way is to use a SHARP step bit and just drill...

The front is pre-wired for a washer bottle. You'll find it wire tied to the front beam (red wire). The end under the dash is wired to a white/yellow at the turn signal unit in a Sindal screw connector. You can just unscrew it from there and run it to your switch.
I typically wire the fogs to the low beam power so they turn off when you pull the high beams.

Regarding the wire, it is probably just as easy to run a new power wire through the same hole that the harness or the speedo cable passes through. It is sealed with 3M ribbon, so you don't even need to drill, just push it through and then push the ribbon back down from the back side so it stays sealed.

Just pick up your ground at the main chassis ground on the driver's side of the front beam.

Or you can go with Marshall Driving Lights and have them come on with High Beam instead....

Mine seem to light up half the World when I hit High Beam, now...

FWIW, mine are Pep Boy's ($50) mounted on the bumper brackets with an independent switch.

P.S. - I'm still digging on your garage set-up (and rides)!!

I went a completely different route and mounted a couple of small halogen lights behind the horn grilles. These are ultra modern looking and would look way out of place on our cars but mounted behind the grilles no one sees them. When they're on all you see is the light coming from there.

Must be a Kanuck thing - for sneaking up on Moose or somethin??.....

Mike Cochrane, in Quebeck, did the same thing.

That's probably where I go the idea from as I recall I saw it on someone's car.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't want to sneak up on a moose. Those things are big! I'd rather they heard (or saw) me coming and got off the road.
