Does anyone have a suggestion for improving my braking? I have the CB performance front disc brakes and the regular back brakes...it just seems too spongy...any other master cylinder would help?

You can use a 1955-66 VW Type 2 (Bus) master cylinder. It has a much larger piston for added pressure. If you're using a dual circuit system, you'lll need a 1967 Bus master cylinder. As an added bonus, you can mount a Porsche aluminum brake reservoir directly to it for a more authentic look. SAves trunk space too
