Nice poker run cruise for Lahaina victims and keiki. @MusbJim, buses galore. You would have loved it.

Isn’t Lahaina walled off? I know the big Safeway lot is open.

They've got Lahaina barricaded and national guard patrolling. Everywhere else on the island including the far west side is ok. The cruise started on the north side and headed down to the south side. Everyone is trying to keep the traffic to the west side as low as possible.
The island is hurting, but coming back. One of the unexpected problems is several officials did press conferences telling folks not to come to Maui.
Basically the whole island is open except for Lahaina and businesses are laying off locals because everyone cancelled their visits. FEMA can't cover that...
It will come back, but a lot of people are suffering now.
I cannot image *real* traffic trying to get around the northwest side. Must be a nightmare!

The first week they were sending all non-emergency traffic going to Kaanapali, Napili, etc around the northwest side.
They reserved the southwest side past Olowalu for fire, rescue and recovery vehicles. Everything is open now, they've just got Lahaina blocked off.
Michael, thanks for sharing those cruise pics! Offering prayers for Lahaina survivors and everyone on Maui on the road to recovery.
