I suggest you cancel the order, save the dough, get back on the road. Really how hard could it be to take that munged up pin and straighten it out with a hammer (or a rock), put it back in there, maybe a little red Permatex to glue it in?

I can't compete with that, Mitch!  And although I do genuinely feel for you, Mike, the fact that it's still not coat-off weather yet and it still (sometimes) freezes at night here  while you're enjoying fancy umbrella drinks out in the yard is not lost on me...

@Michael Pickett, next time try & give Dean at Aloha Otto Parts on Oahu a call (808-671-4545).  He's a little "rough around the edges" on the phone but really takes care of the outer island guys.  He has a pretty good stock of VW stuff and always tries to find the cheapest method of shipping (UPSP, HawnAir, etc.)

Was the little C-clip floating in drum un-damaged? I'd think you could use a SS bolt and SS Nyloc nut until part arrive.

What Wolfgang said is the easiest quick fix or the local hardware store and dig into those draws filled misc hardware aka pin - bolt and cotter pin etc.
