David,
It could be depending if you the Chitor or the Chitee. The usage I used has the form "1 : a short letter or note; especially : a signed voucher of a small debt (as for food)" My exposure, as a youth, was from my parents and relatives who worked in various factories; who would occasionally get a "chit" for dinner when they had to work overtime. So to finish this treatse, I would be happy to settle the chit for your first brewski with the Inn Keeper.

Looking forward to the run to the Del.

Hey all,
the caravan sounds like a blast. I'm trying to work out a way to attend since it will be a busy weekend for me with mothers day/mothers birthday this weekend also. please let me know the cross streets of the dennys meeting place just in case I can make it, or maybe I can hook up with you all somewhere on the road. I live in Cypress off of valley view street.
I have the black right hand drive JPS speedster that was at Knotts.
hope to see you all this weekend - Erwin
Hey, David.

I'm opting out tomorrow. I got hit by a flying 50 gal. plastic planter pot bouncing down the 101 yesterday. Damage isn't that major, but it'll require more work than I had hoped I'd need in my car's first month of life. Gonna' lay low on freeway trips for a while, at least until my front fender (and nervous system) are 100% again.

Have a great time with the boys!

MM

Mike,

Bummer, I can see it now, this planter coming into view and not knowing which lane it will bounce to, always guess the wrong lane or you are stuck with vehicles on either side, been there, done that. Has to be a real cruncher for you and that beautiful paint job. Keep smiling, it will only get better.

My Speedy is headed back up to Oregon tomorrow after John did a heart transplant this week, can't wait to get it on the road again.

Bruce
If you would like to meet up with us at the Del the time to meet would be around 1:30 this afternoon.

I don't have any phone numbers to reach you guys but We will still meet at 10 am at the Denny's

Mike sorry to hear about your car brother, but you are ok and that is what matters most.

Vince M will we be seeing you there?
Thanks, Bruce.

Yeah, kinda of a buzz-kill to say the least. It could have been a lot worse. Only small craking where the bra grabs hold of the fender, and a little re-positioning of the bumper, etc.

For 7 years I drove an old BMW around and never had some much as a bird crap on the windshield, and now bohemith projectiles are hurling toward me and mine...

What are you going to do? Maybe John (Steele) can install a Patriot missile launcher on the dash?? I'd better call Ashcroft before his securiy bagde gets locked out of the Pentagon.

Saw John getting your red demon ready for the trip. Glad you two will be reunited soon. I told John to install an oil temp. alarm run through seat, right where you manhood meets the road..

MM
Mike,

The buzzer thing did cross my mind. It was truly an unfortunate thing, kind of like your chance encounter with a planter. Coming down I-5, top down, sun in the eyes, trying to keep both eyes open for the killer traffic. I had been watching my guages with regularity but with all the disatractions and trying to keep our caravan in sight! Probably only took seconds from the time the oil hose burned thru until bang time. In any case it will be back home soon. Do you need glass work or just some paint. Since you paint is fresh it should make it easier to match up. Take a pic or two and show us a Speedster/planter encounter. Forgot to ask about the condition of the planter. Bet the owners didn't come back to apologize or pick it up, right?

Bruce
Thanks to all that made it out to the Del Sat. we had a great time More over, all the smiles we got as the cars rolled down the road really made the day complete. The weather was around 78* and perfect. We hit some traffic on the way down but that was due to everyone looking at the Hot Silver & blue bullet Spyder that had everyone
Hi Vince.
Glad to hear you didn't stop after we left you!
Have you bought any new underwear yet? : )

I mentioned the Solvang Winery Tour Run.
If anyone is interested let me know I have done this
with several other clubs and have had an excellent time.
The roads that twist between the different wineries are perfect for our cars.
This is one event that I can get my wife to ride in the "stupid car with no windshield"

Murph
David,

Thanks for organizing the event. I had a great time and enjoyed all the company. It was fun to see the stir created at the check in area of the Del when you all arrived. Great afternoon with a perfect finish. I took del Dios highway home and had it all to myself.

Thanks again for a great day.

Larry

I'll post my photos as soon as I figure out how to get them from the camera to the computer.
Larry, I'm fimiliar with Del Dios Hiway, It is a very nice ride,
Brings you around the back side of Lake Hodges if I remember correctly
I remember when Hodges went about 1/4 mile east of the 15...
Guess we won't see that again...........
Kevin, good idea about a winery run, I drink Scotch personally,
Single Malt, but I could make an exception for a nice windy road run...unless they have scotcheries in that area....
The Wilson observatory sounds like a good one too...
Living in L.A. gives us many options....
lets hear from some of you other guys, who would like to
get your cars on the road...You may be suprised, some of these
speedster guys are alright...........Oh, almost forgot, Glen Pablo's
Wife joined us at the Del, Thanks to Glen for sending his wife, and thanks to her for joining us...........How many of you guys would
send your wifes or significant others to be with a bunch of.....
Well I know I wouldn't............
