Thanks for the post David....I was more than a little concerned...
Everything is fine, and all you need to do is show up.......
Forgot it was your Birthday, Will a fine Cigar do for now, I've been sick and haven't had time to buy you a really really good gift....

For everyone attending, I will not be handing out maps for the northern part of our journey. Its to simple...from the Denny's we will pick up PCH south, once we get to Dana Point we head to the 5 South and on to the La Costa exit....We will be picking up several cars along PCH as we progress south......

I suggest you write down some of the cell numbers that are being posted here just in case we get separated
Kevin,
405 south does not have an exit for Artesia blvd.....
Exit the 405 S at Redondo Beach Blvd, make a left at the light,
and then Right at the first light (Prairie Ave)1/4 mile will be Artesia and on your left is a Starbucks.....behind the Carl's Jr.
Tell me what time you will be there....I will be there same time..
It should take us 15 minutes from that point to the long beach location...
Hey all, or maybe just Dave. Do you have a aprrox time that you all wil be at the 15 from Del Dios. That is where I will be joining in. Hope you all fast guys ain't going to be flying, my little 1600dp with stock swingaxle doinst go real fast, but can keep 60-65 on the freeway. I will also have the wife and 5 week old son with me so I will be taking it easy on the mountains.

AS per the samba post about this you all just might have to get a hold of Evert he is the owner of the site and he can change it.

WildWally I would estimate it will take us 30 to 40 minutes to get to the entrance of the 15 at Via Rancho Parkway. I dont know exactly what time we are leaving La Costa so leave me your cell and I will call when we leave. If you dont have a cell, plan on us leaving La Costa at 1030, add the 30 to 40 minutes and be parked pointing east on Via Rancho Parkway. When the train goes by tuck in behind the last car, pick up the draft and we will pull that Bug along!
David Salvato I have been keeping tabs on the "I will be there" and so far we have from the LA area: Manto, Salvato, McSween, Roberto, Murphy, Lampariello, George, K & G Miller, Quiroz & Palmquist. From the San Diego area we have: Balser, D'Elia, Kelly, Franklin, Bull, Neighbors[59 Coupe], McNulty[Spyder], Wilson[65 Bug],and Mr.? in a 59 D Convertible. Thunder Ranch may have a Spyder waiting at their place. Thats 19 maybe 20. If anyone else is going post it now. Hope that answers you and WildWally's question.

Valet parking has been confirmed at the DEL.

"We don't need no stinking badges!" Or do we. Other than Vince, who you can't miss, I don't know anyone, maybe others are in the same position, and if I were the emperor I would vote for everyone wearing a name tag with their name and city so that we could avoid the whats your name again game. What say you?

I will be making 2 phone calls in the morning....I will call Joe L
when I am in Huntington beach, and shortly after that I will call Oz.
when I leave Huntington beach, you guys need to be ready to roll when you see us coming through....we will be on PCH.....
We will be leaving Long Beach at 9:00 and we want to be in La Costa 10:30....
the route is PCH to Dana Point and then the 5 to La Costa....
Gentlemen get ready to start your ENGINS...............
Kevin and Walter,
Once we are on the road, we tend to be a touch unorganized, at least thats the way it was last year. We got lost more than a few times, but in the end had a great time together. Our stay at the Del should be at least a few hours, to maybe more. It seems we will all be heading back North, but not necessarily together, depending on everyone's agenda.....bring camera's, everyone enjoys looking at pic's, lap top's if you feel the need, but these cars don't lock well so be careful of whatever you bring............
Hey Guys-
I hope the rest of the run went well and nobody else got lost. I was the last one to leave the gas station at La Costa, hit every light and basically lost everyone at the detour on Rancho Santa Fe. To top all things off I left my cell phone at home. I thought of just jumping on the 5 fwy and meeting everyone at the Del, But the traffic was too bad. Next time Im bringing a map of the area. Great turn out of all cars though, authentic and replicas, as well as a couple of VW buses and bugs.
Oz and myself were short on time and the 5 fwy traffic ultimately determined our turnaround spot prior to La Costa. All in all, it was a good drive and nice to be out in a group. Oz and I briefly talked about arranging for some more local easy drives such as Dana Point to Huntington Beach or something of that caliber, this we could perhaps do once a month or as often as there is interest. Perhaps other local drives that would take only half a day might be of interest to some as well. If anyone out there would like to see more drives/activities, let me know. I would be happy to arrange something fun, cheap and accomodating for right seaters and non-participatory family members awaiting your return at home with the mundane responsiblities that all of us look to excape.n

Dan
Erwin, sorry dude, the guy in the bus was suppose to be last and he had a walkie talkie that belonged to David B and he never showed at the Thunder ranch either....we won't let that happen again....
Oz and Dan, this run was a bit long, I'm just getting home now,
and I'm wiped out from the sun, wind blown, and a lot of miles logged.....Any time you want to plan a smaller run, go for it, I'm in.....
Dan, I really like your tires............

Will start a new thread for pic's from the hotel run..........
Erwin,
We're so sorry we lost you. The guy in the Yellow bus was suposedly keeping the back together. The detour was kind of hairy, but we made it to the del about 2:30. I looked for you the whole way.

George and I were talking about putting together a closer eaiser run just up the coast..maybe like to santa barbara or something like that...no back roads just the fwy to PCH or something..maybe even a malibu run......

call us when you get the chance and we'll do a short run somewhere.
562-310-6975.

It was a great crowd we loved all the cars and we hope we'll have some locals join us for a quick lunch run sometime soon.

thanks for everything!!!
Karon and George

Hey David, will will be waiting on the side of the road with bells on. I will be waiting a little bit before 11am, Car is already all washed and fueled up so will be ready. I will be bring my Digital camera to take pics. I may bring my laptop to burn the pics to CD if any anyone wants them let me know or I will just post them here when I get home. If no one wants them there I will not bring it.

Wally
Sounds like everyone had a good time. I really wanted to go but my car only gets about 100 miles on a tank and I though I'd be a problem for everyone.
So I spent Saturday showing the car at the Irivine hot rod show. A guy came up to me and told me he saw 15 speedsters at Denny's when he had breakfast, yea I know they were going to San Diego! I'd love to do a shorter run like Long Beach to Dana Point with everyone.
