The weather was tolerable enough today for one last quick ride before the hard water season starts up here. It was my first summer driving the speedy, loved every seconds of it. Now the long winter Speedy upgrade project list can start.

The last drive of the year is always full of melancholy, but with contentment knowing that it was a good summer, and that there is another one on the way.
What's a few months of sleet, snow, freezing rain, ice, cold temperatures, frozen fingers and ears, when we have a great car sleeping peacefully.
Lots of great weather still coming. I rode my motorcycle almost until Christmas last year and always well into November
Until there's salt, it's all good.

We got out for a bit today, too....over in the South end of Ottawa. The hardtop and good cabin heat sure was a plus as the weather was only about 4 C. when we left. Got out for a nice breakfast and over to see the boat which will get hauled out next week or so.
Not much to do to the car this winter. Check out the front end, the brakes, change oil in tranny and engine. Fix one small drip in a rad hose. Boring compared to last winter for sure. I'm toying with the idea of building a small airplane over the winter so I might become more legit and say I'm going back to aircooled.....:-)
Although I'm able to drive throughout the year here in NorCal I truly love the autumn driving season. Changing colors, cooler temperatures and less people on the roads. These cars run better this time of year. Out today on one of the vast numbers of rural, mountainous roads here in the Sierra Foothills I enjoyed the quiet solitude and the sound of a 2110 through the canyon below Iowa Hill. It might be raining next weekend but today I sat behind Penny's steering wheel - the church of my choosing.
Krusty - sounds like you had a pretty good day driving that beauty around! I'm sure it still brings a smile to your face as you're going through the gears and the wind in your face!
Those autumn days are great. Sun out and the air is crisp but not chilling. The motors love it.
How was the bundt cake?

It was good, Tony. It was nice running into Mary Sue.
We are getting some sprinkles here in So-Cal. I guess it's time to put the car away for the season. Hey, don't roll your eyes. We have acid rain here. Burns right through the fiberglass.
