Meatballs?

I'm thinking about affixing some olde tyme race car numbers to Bridget. Pondering the removable "static cling" styles to facilitate the mind-change, if necessary.

Anyone have any knowledge or advice to impart, in terms of durability, removability, re-stick-on-ability, etc.?

From my experience with adhesive type materials such as this stuff. They're all pretty easy to remove with the aid of a strategically aimed and timed heat gun/hair dryer and would come off quite easily if you changed your mind.

Get some with the magnetic stuff on the back like realtors use ---- oops guess that won't work!

Get thee to any decent sign maker. Give a couple of laps around the neighbourhood and tell him what you need. Adhesive vinyl sign lettering is dead easy to install and remove. In fact...make him look good and have him install it. He'll want a couple of photos to use for marketing purposes.

Boat names on transoms are a good example of this. Application is piece of cake, spraying Dawn soapy water under the "decal" to allow for positioning, then a flexible plastic squeegee is used to burnish it down and eliminate the air blisters. If you find a persistent blister, a pin hole poke or exacto knife slit will alleviate that.

I've had the static cling meatballs on my car for years and they have never come off while driving - even in the rain. There are a few Cobra sellers that make them. Can't recall the name of the company I bought mine from.
They sometimes sell a rubber roller to apply them. The drill is to make a mix of water with a few drops of car wash soap. Wet the car surface with the water/soap, place the meatball, use the roller to roll out any air bubbles.

I just take them off about once a year, clean them up and reset them.
