Hi all!
I just purchased my first speedster and I'm looking for a good mechanic in New Orleans. Does anyone have suggestions?
Also, I will be driving it to the car show at Pebble Beach in August. Let me know if there are any good spots with speedster owners. I hope to meet some west coasters.

NOLA - Welcome to the Madness! It seems that you got bit real bad by the Madness... a cross-country drive to Monterey for the Pebble Beach event. That will be an awesome driving adventure for sure!
I'm in SoCal so no knowledge to answer your mechanic question. I'm sure someone will chime in shortly.
BTW - there will be several SOCers in Monterey for several of the August events; pre-historic races at Laguna Seca, Car show downtown Carmel, Pacific Grove Cruise , etc. Post under the 'Events' thread your travel plans/itinerary and you may be able to coordinate a rendezvous with SOC in the area.

A good source for competent, local mechanics is your local car club. Start googling with vw air cooled clubs in your area. If no luck, broaden your search to local hot rod clubs. Someone in your area has the answer to your question.
Welcome to the madness Nola! There used to be a gentleman in this "club" from La. I think his name is Felix. I know it's a big state but he seemed to be familiar with N.O. I don't think he has visited here in a while but he came to Carlisle a few years back. Best of luck with your insanity.
