MEISTER SCHAFTEN BADGE

Just got one of these and want to make sure of the correct location on the dash. If anyone out there has a pic of their dash with one installed in the correct location, I would appreciate a look. Heck dimensions would also be good but that is almost cheating

Troy, I don't have exact measurements but make sure the badge is at the left of the dash handle. Check these pics out; it's the real McCoy.

Well it seems Vintage mounted my Speedster script so far to the right that there is no room for the badge. I'll need to move the script, fill the old holes, paint the dash. Sure a lot of work. I may just forget the badge for now.

Troy, looking at your car, maybe the script is not the problem but the dash handle; it's probably located too much to the left.

I think you are correct. Just took the attached pic. Maybe that is where VS puts them. I noted a new post by Justin and his badge is on the right of the handle and it looks OK. Sure lots better than redoing the dash.

I don't think VS puts them in exactly the same place all the time. When I ordered my car I called Kirk and informed him I wanted to put the badge on and that I wanted the handle mounted as far to the right as possible and he accommodated my request. I have a suggestion if you want to re-do the dash. Just get a hold of the rubber dash pad strips that CMC included in their kits or duplicate them; upholster them with vinyl matching your interior (I just bought some directly from Kirk) and put those on. Not only will you end up with a more original looking dash but the upper part of the handle goes through the pad strip so you'll be able to just move the handle and redrill more to the right; the part will just cover the previous hole. Luckily for us the bottom part of the handle gets attached to the bottom of the dash but it's out of sight so the previous hole won't be seen. I'm waiting for those parts as I bought them from a fellow forum member; if I'm not mistaken Cory has a set he wants to unload, maybe you could get in touch with him.
