i was just wondering if we were going to do another Mr. Bill memorial Cruise then I saw this post. Saturday is our youngest grandson's 1 year birthday. If you don't mind moving this to Sunday, I will definitely be there. Peace-Out!

The place we originally met (with Bill) was Hillside Cafe, 1004 Foothill Blvd, La Canada. We gathered in a parking lot across the street from the cafe. We met one other time at another coffee shop on Foothill (with Carrol's daughter & boyfriend) but I can't remember the name or location.

Here is the video we put together for Bill's Memorial a couple years ago...

We met at the Starbucks on Foothill Blvd, 8349 Foothill Blvd, Sunland. On the 210 Fwy take the exit for Sunland Blvd, head East and it becomes Foothill Blvd. Stay on Foothill Blvd just past the 7-Eleven on the Oro Vista intersection. The Starbucks in on the left, next to the 7-Eleven.

From there we just jumped on the Big Tujunga Canyon Road into the Angeles Crest Mts.

Gerd, I know what it's like to lose a close friend.  My friend, after battling cancer for a year, lost his fight.  His passing hurts, but it was not a surprise.  With Bill it was, and that can hurt even more because it was so unexpected.

I never met Bill, but if I was closer I'd join you for your memorial drive.

Ron

ron thank u

this is always a very difficult time

bill and i were lost brothers that found each other

i bailed on him that day, we would play hookey and ride the curves of route 2 to newcombes ranch and have a beer

he called me 10 minutes before he died to tell me what a great run and day it was and to tease me that i bailed on him

it will haunt me till i die

jim u r right i just checked out and they say it wont be out for at least a week.

im not sure how to check the location vs as to where we go up to newcombes. an alternative would be the rock store. it was Bill's second favorite place to drive mulholland and the iconic pic of him and barkley was taken there
