Alan.
The eBay ad says you built it. Is it really one of yours? http://www.ebay.com/itm/192190125660?

#36 --- Dec 2014. Aren't you keeping track?
I don't think so Wolfgang. #36 was a flared car and this one isn't.
It appears to be this speedster (#42), the second to last build.

Right - I just remeber the GM Onyx Black paint
I searched all through the SOC and can't find any references to it and I'm a bit suspicious.

"I'm so excited I can't stand it. Alan went above & beyond my expectations!!!! It a First class A+ totally knock your socks off speedster !!!!
And it's mine."
Same seats, same 5 ivory pieces (knobs, steering wheel including porsche crest, column etc), same door trim etc. No miles on it, so what happened over 3 months? Inquiring minds want to know....
It's 42
@Alan Merklin As I mentioned back on your thread a few months ago, it appears as though you did an amazing job on that speedster. I hope everything is OK with the gentlemen (Phil) for whom you built the speedster.
Is the guy selling it the guy you built it for?
I think the reason I couldn't find it was because I was searching the SOC under "Onyx black," which is what the ad says, but Alan didn't call it that.
That affair didn't last long...
alan uses Ford Tuxedo Black if I recall..
Onyx (GM).... Tuxedo (Ford) ....have used both
$32K? Come on man!
Crazy - only 189 miles and selling?
I like this comment in ad --- when he's asking $32k:
"With such an authentic look & feel such as this, why spend $300,000 or more when you can spend under $30,000 and enjoy yourself to the fullest!"

I guess we know what he's willing to take then.
There was an issue with melted lenses which I resolved with motorcycle short dome taillight bulbs and new beehive lenses. Also had a bad electronic ignition which a local VW guy straightened out. Seller appears to be a local Broker there...it is one of the top few speedsters I've wrenched.
I hesitated to comment in detail until I spoke with the owner today. . . Yes I built this speedster (#42) It is everything and more that the photos depict it to be and the mileage is correct. Sometimes opportunities in life change hence the owner is selling. I would suggest that anyone interested contact the owner direct, it's one very nice ride !
